Join us February 14th at 10:30AM for our next Glimpse event. Our Sr. Pastor Andy Stanley will continue the series He’s Still Got The Whole World In His Hands. We would love for you to be our guest and experience this series with us.
Glimpse is held at Saluda Shoals’ River Center (5605 Bush River Rd, Columbia, SC 29201) from 10:30 – 11:30AM.
On January 12th the Island nation of Haiti was rocked by a 7.3 magnitude earthquake. Columbia Church would like to make it easy for you to help. 1. Please pray! Pray that the supplies needed will reach the ground and pray for those who are injured or have lost loved ones. 2. You may also choose to donate money to assist in the relief effort. In the midst of the incalculable damage caused by the earthquake, money is needed for food, shelter, and medical supplies for hundreds of thousands of people.
There are many reputable Christian charities that are involved in the relief effort. We have partnered with Samaritan’s Purse to help bring relief to the Haitian people. If you would like to donate simply go to their site and click “Donate Online Now”. You can also check their site for updates on exactly how the relief effort is progressing.
At Glimpse on November 15th we took a step further with the Miracle Project. You can watch the update video here:
The Miracle Project: Phase Two
The next Glimpse is on December 13th. We have an amazing day planned: a band to lead us in worship, communion, the Miracle Project offering! We are very excited, and we hope that you can join us.
To prepare for that day, we have asked Columbia Church to fast on December 12th. Consume nothing but water and pray for God to move at Glimpse. We believe that we can have a significant impact on the lives of thousands of Rwandans by providing them with clean drinking water, and on the lives of hundreds of children in Columbia by aiding the Jubilee Academy. The Miracle Project offering will be a huge blessing to them!
Also, we challenged everyone in Columbia Church to volunteer once during the holiday season with a non-profit organization in the Columbia area. We made a few suggestions, which you can find at the end of this blog entry. We want to see a wave of radical generosity unleashed on our city, because our God is calling us to be outrageously generous.
Stay tuned for further web updates in the coming weeks leading up to Glimpse!

You are invited to get a glimpse of what is in store for our city. Every month we host the Glimpse event to share the vision for Columbia Church, and to share a message from our Sr. Pastor Andy Stanley, or another North Point communicator.
The next glimpse event will be November 15th. We would love for you to be our guest!

So the cat is out of the bag. At Glimpse last week we announced that our end-of-the-year giving campaign is more about an end-of-the-year generosity campaign. For every dollar we raise for Columbia Church between now and January, we will raise another dollar for the poorest of the poor both in our city and around the world. Watch this video for more information.
We’ve also posted two videos on vimeo.com showcasing the two organizations we’ve partnered with: Rwanda Clean Water Project, and Jubilee Academy. You can see them both HERE.

I hope you are having a great summer and that the rest of your summer plans involve Columbia Church! Here is the August calendar. I want to briefly highlight 2 events.
First, the August 13th Glimpse Event will be our largest event to date and we need you to help.
How can you help?
1. PRAY PRAY PRAY – Pray for the continued growth of our momentum. Pray for those individuals who want to connect with our vision “to build a church that unchurched people love to attend,” and want to partner with us. Pray for opportunities to personally invest and invite someone to this event.
2. SERVE – We need help making sure this is an excellent environment, free of distractions. We need help serving children, setting up, and tearing down. We also need people to serve as greeters on host teams.
The second event I want to draw your attention to is the launch party for North Point Online. On August 16th we will gather with thousands of others around the world to launch North Point Online. We will watch a live service from our Buckhead Church location in Atlanta, share light refreshments, and briefly share what is next for Columbia Church. Contact JD or Ben for location and directions.
